Thomas Mangloña II is from Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands and has worked for regional and local newsrooms in the Pacific including the Marianas Variety, Saipan Tribune, Pacific News Center, and KUAM News. He was also an intern at ABC7 News in San Francisco while an undergraduate at the University of California-Berkeley. Thomas is a founding member of the Pacific Islander Journalism Taskforce under the Asian American Journalism Association focused on representation and advocacy for Oceania in the media. He has an interest in non-profit news and hopes to begin his own media organization in Micronesia. He is passionate about telling intersectional stories on indigenous communities.
