Sam Baucom is completing his final year of undergrad at Stanford University while in the Stanford Journalism Program. His main interests are in American politics, criminal law and broadcast journalism. He hopes to spend the year covering topics related to the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primary and the 2020 presidential election. A Texas native, Sam has worked on political campaigns, most recently on Beto O’Rourke’s 2018 Senate bid. He is interested in learning how journalism can be used to tell stories that connect people to subjects that are incredibly important but often go underreported.
