Megan Calfas’ background is in creative writing and storytelling, which allows her to approach journalism with a focus on showcasing the human element in every story. She graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in English, creative writing, with a minor in theater and performance studies and honors in the arts. Throughout her time as an undergrad, she worked for the Stanford Storytelling Project as a teaching assistant and story coach and completed an independent project in Zanzibar that culminated in a podcast on the state of maternal health on the island. As a playwright, essayist, actress and podcaster, she is excited to continue to expand the mediums with which she can tell stories and find creative, compelling ways for them to resonate with a wider audience.
