Aliyah Chavez
Aliyah Chavezachavez8(at)stanford(dot)edu

Aliyah Chavez is from Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico and studies communication and the comparative studies in race and ethnicity at Stanford. Her passion for storytelling stems largely from the absence of Native American journalists’ presence in newsrooms across the country. In her co-term year, she hopes to report on a wide range of stories from Native American affairs to sports. She has previously interned at NBC’s TODAY show in New York City and been published in Peninsula Press. In her spare time, you can catch Aliyah studying at the Native American Community Center or cheering on the sidelines as a Stanford cheerleader.
